ABOUT US

Sunshine Ultimate Care Clinic is  fully accredited with GPA and is acknowledged by Melbourne University and the RACGP as a teaching practice for both medical students and general practice registrars.

Our doctors Dr Vu Le, Dr Denis Yeung and Dr Vesna Pepic, and Dr Kishore Parboo are all members of the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners (RACGP) and Victorian Registered. Our friendly and welcoming receptionists are trained in emergency first-aid and CPR. Together we welcome you to our conveniently located clinic at 127 Durham Rd in Sunshine which has public transport right to its doorstep as well as rear and side parking with easy disability access.

Our centre abides by standards and Code of Practice set by the RACGP. We encourage your feedback to assist us in evaluating and improving our health services to the community of Sunshine.

If the clinic is unattended after hours, please call the above number for medical assistance provided by Melbourne Medical Deputising Services Pty Ltd. They will arrange a home visit by a qualified Doctor as required.

RATES

We BULK BILL so please bring your MEDICARE CARD when you come for your appointment.

For non-Medicare card holders our rates are:

  • $50 for a short consultation (15 mins) $60 Saturday
  • $80 for a long consultation (1/2 hr) $90 Saturday
  • Home Visits $100 base price

Non Medicare items include the following:

  • Employment medical assessments;
  • Taxi driver medical assessments;
  • Divers Medical assessments;
  • Travel vaccinations;
  • Insurance Company Medical assessments;
  • Immigration medical assessments.

The above listed items (among other non-Medicare items) are privately billed according to the time taken. Please ask for a quotation before commencing. At present we only accept cash payments, however, EFTPOS will be available soon.

APPOINTMENTS

Consultation is by appointment only. Standard appointments are scheduled at 10 minutes in duration. If you require a longer consult or have multiple medical problems, need forms (eg work cover) to be filled, or require an interpreter please request reception staff for a longer appointment time.

If more than one person from your family wishes to see the doctor at the same time, please ensure that a separate appointment is made for each family member.

If you are feeling sick and would like to see your doctor on the day, please call at 8.30 AM or as early as possible, for an “on the day appointment” the receptionist will make every effort to accommodate your preferred time. However, this may not always be possible in which case we encourage you to seek health advice from:

We are unable to accommodate “walk-in clients” who do not have an appointment except in cases of emergency. Emergency situations are given priority at our clinic and appointment schedules maybe temporarily disrupted, our reception will inform you of any known delays in the appointment schedule. Please note that if you do not have an appointment or an urgent medical condition the wait to see the doctor can be up to 3 hours.

Time is valuable to us so if you are unable to attend your appointment or you are running late, please call to cancel or reschedule your appointment time. Repeated missed appointments may not guarantee you future booked appointments.

If you want to talk to your doctor please leave your name and number and a short message with the receptionist. Our doctors do not give telephone consults or give test results over the phone. If you have a health problem please call to arrange an appointment.

RECALL AND REMINDERS

Sunshine Ultimate Care Clinic utilises a computerised recall/reminder system including state and tertiary reminder systems for the following:

1.   Immunisations and vaccinations

2.   Pap smears and women’s health checks

3.   Diabetes

4.   Asthma

5.   General follow ups

6.   Health assessments for the following groups of people:

o    Refugees

o    45-49 years old

o    over 75 years old

o    Indigenous

If you do not wish to participate in our recall system, please inform the receptionist, our practice manager or your treating doctor.

TEST RESULTS

In the interest of strict confidentiality, test results are best given to the patient in person. Receptionists are not qualified to give results, so it is advisable to see the doctor who ordered the tests for the results.  An appointment can be made for this.

 

When tests are performed it is the patients responsibility to contact the clinic for an appointment.  Never assume that because you have not heard from the doctor or clinic that tests results are normal.

 

PRIVACY

Your information is kept private, confidential and securely stored in our medical software, Best Practice. When you come to our clinic we record your name and contact details on the consumer record sheet, this data is then transferred into our secure medical software. Other details such as your care plan and information about your health are recorded each time you visit by our doctors. Your information can only be viewed by the clinicians who work at our practice, directly involved in your care. We do not disclose your information without your consent or if required by law, such as in a medical emergency. You have the right to request access to your information and to ask for it to be corrected if necessary according to the doctor’s discretion.

PRACTICE FEEDBACK

At Sunshine Ultimate Care clinic we value your feedback as health consumers. Please feel free to make any suggestions or leave constructive feedback in our Suggestions Box. If you are dissatisfied with our service, we would appreciate that you fill out our Complaints Form and return it to our Practice Manager at your earliest convenience to receive a response.

NEWS

New Doctors to commence in Feb 2012: Dr Myles Sutton and Dr Leeanne Pham who are qualified doctors specializing in general practice.  We also would like to welcome our new practice nurse, Ms Kate McLaren who will be starting in February 2012 also. Kate will be assisting all the doctors from Monday to Friday.
